Ideas and projects for Saronno
Proposals for my town, written down with data anyone can check. They are not acts of the Municipality nor commissioned studies: they are argued ideas, with the sources at the foot of every page and the assumptions stated, so that they can be discussed on their merits.
Theme
Energy
Producing in town the energy the town consumes, starting from public roofs.
Theme
Digital government
Open data, free software and artificial intelligence: a municipality that decides with data and does not depend on a single vendor.
ProposalDifficulty easy
Deciding with data: open data for the Municipality
Tools the Municipality already has and a free regional platform: it takes a procedure, not a purchase.
ProposalDifficulty hard
Free software and GNU/Linux in the town hall
It touches the daily work of every office, file formats and line-of-business systems: years, training and a body above the single municipality.
ProposalDifficulty medium
Artificial intelligence in the town hall, with the data staying in the town hall
A server and downloadable models are within reach; the real work is the regulation, the impact assessment and training.
